ISSEY MIYAKE’S COLORFUL OPTIMISM

Issey Miyake presented a colorful collection in Paris during the Spring-Summer 2020 season.In a very intricated and dancing performance the collection was interpreted as vivid a joyful speech for the upcoming season.On Friday, September 27th, ISSEY MIYAKE presented its SPRING-SUMMER collection by the new designer Satoshi Kondo, titled “A Sense of Joy”, at the art and cultural center LE CENTQUATRE-PARIS located in the 19th district of Paris. Directed by Daniel Ezralow, the show was a modern iteration of the joy people find in wearing clothes.The music became an ethereal mix of electronics from the French artist of the French artist DeLaurentis to a pop instrumental, with which the models began to jump from top to bottom to show the creations of Issey Miyake. In another video, the models defy physics, spinning on one foot while apparently held by harnesses.The models wore sets with raspberry pink, lime green and lilac tones, built with almost translucent fabrics and with loose and baggy dresses that fluttered with fan-shaped wallets.The delightful show was the first collection of Satoshi Kondo, the new chief designer of the Japanese brand. Kondo succeeded Yoshiyuki Miyamae a few months ago and said the idea of the show was “to express the joy of wearing clothes and the joy of the movement.
