HOW I WITNESSED THE CORONATION OF MISS UNIVERSE

The night was promising. I arrived early and really I was nervous because I never have attended an event of such a magnitude. The security was tight. I had to travel 24 hours later after I arrived in Honduras. I was relaxed after entering the auditorium and had something to eat.

After waiting for a short time, the event started. It was amazingly coordinated, and the scenery was pristine. The contestants were so beautiful. It was hard to choose a universal beauty between all!

After hearing a shouting crowd for all the event, I was tired. The competition was fierce. All the contestants give all and represent the best of the beauty of their country.

I think Sheyni Palacios was the right winner. A beautiful and intelligent woman with a humble background. She wanted more of the tittle. A night full of emotion.

Sheynnis Palacios is an 23-year-old mental health activist and audiovisual producer from Managua, Nicaragua. She usually prefers to be behind the camera, but she’s come out of the wings because she believes in finding solutions for as many of the world’s problems as she can.

As a problem-solving kind of person, she put herself through the communications program at her university by working in her mom’s snack business. When the business faltered in an economic crisis, her mother migrated north to find a better job, and she became the economic and emotional support for her grandmother and young brother.

Her cause this year will be mental health, which stems from her own experiences with anxiety.

Coming from a country where this issue is rarely addressed, she started an accessible initiative called “Understand Your Mind,” in which she interviews a specialist on emotional care in her television segments. She has also produced events and other audiovisual projects on this theme. Her goal in life is to work in the service of humanity, by running a newsroom and producing content and commercials for international brands.

In her spare time, she rescues cats and dogs, and loves a good mental game and puzzle.

La noche prometía. Llegué temprano y realmente estaba nervioso porque nunca había asistido a un evento de tal magnitud. La seguridad era estricta. Tuve que viajar 24 horas después de llegar a Honduras. Me sentí relajado después de entrar al auditorio y comí algo.

Después de un rato de espera, comenzó el evento. Estaba increíblemente coordinado y el paisaje era prístino. Las concursantes eran tan hermosas. ¡Fue difícil elegir una belleza universal entre todas!

Después de escuchar una multitud gritando durante todo el evento, estaba cansado. La competencia fue feroz. Todos los concursantes lo dan todo y representan lo mejor de la belleza de su país.

Creo que Sheyni Palacios fue la ganadora correcta. Una mujer hermosa e inteligente de origen humilde. Ella quería más del título. Una noche llena de emoción.

Originaria de un país donde rara vez se aborda este tema, inició una iniciativa accesible llamada “Understand Your Mind”, en la que entrevista a un especialista en cuidado emocional en sus segmentos de televisión. También ha producido eventos y otros proyectos audiovisuales sobre esta temática. Su objetivo en la vida es trabajar al servicio de la humanidad, dirigiendo una sala de redacción y produciendo contenido y comerciales para marcas internacionales.

En su tiempo libre, rescata perros y gatos y le encantan los buenos juegos mentales y los rompecabezas.
